Major industries in the area include Coal Mining, Power Generation, Beef Production, dryland cropping and irrigation such as Lucerne and Cotton.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide professional advice on environmental management, legislative requirements, and sustainability to Council and employeesLiaise with the community, government agencies and relevant business and industry groups as requiredAssist with Council's internal and third-party quality and environmental audit processesUndertake assessment of ecological sustainability aspects of development applications in accordance with the Planning Act **** (Qld) and appropriate environmental legislations including the Environmental Protection Act **** (QldConduct environmental assessments and assess compliance with relevant legislation and regulationsAssist with the management of incidents and non-compliances in line with environmental authority conditions, relevant management plans, and related proceduresAssist with the development, implementation, and certification of the Council's Environmental Management System in compliance with the ISO *****:**** standardDevelop, delivery and evaluate environmental educational materials and presentationsAssist with the development and review of applicable Management Plans (e.g. Environmental Management Plans)Deliver projects/programs in accordance with Council and departmental goalsUndertake environmental inspections of Council's facilities, operations and projects as requiredActively contribute to the teams within the Department and workforce,
