About The Bullet Club GlenelgThe Bullet Club Glenelg is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead its kitchen operations and support the delivery of consistently high-quality food and service.
This is an chance for a motivated Chef who enjoys being hands-on in the kitchen while also taking responsibility for menu planning, food quality, kitchen organisation and the day-to-day coordination of kitchen staff.About the RoleAs Head Chef, you will take responsibility for the daily operation of the kitchen, ensuring meals are prepared and presented to a high standard while maintaining consistency, efficiency and compliance with food safety and workplace requirements.
This is a hands-on culinary role, with the Head Chef actively involved in food preparation and cooking while providing leadership and direction to the broader kitchen team.
Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Planning and developing menus in consultation with managementPreparing, cooking and presenting high-quality dishesOverseeing food preparation and service to ensure quality and consistencySupervising, training and coordinating kitchen staffManaging food preparation,
portion control and wasteEstimating food and labour costs and supporting kitchen budget managementOrdering ingredients and monitoring stock levelsLiaising with suppliers and ensuring appropriate stock availabilityMaintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and workplace safetyEnsuring kitchen equipment, work areas and storage areas are properly maintainedMonitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentationSupporting the efficient operation of the kitchen during busy service periods.About YouThe successful candidate will be an experienced Chef who is passionate about food, enjoys leading by example and can maintain high standards in a busy commercial kitchen.
You will possess:A relevant commercial cookery qualification or equivalentA minimum of 12 months' relevant experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchenExperience coordinating or supervising kitchen operationsStrong food preparation, cooking and presentation skillsSound knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirementsStrong organisation and time-management skillsThe ability to work effectively under pressureStrong communication and teamwork skillsThe ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as requiredEmployment DetailsPosition: Head Chef - Chef (ANZSCO ******)Employment: Full-time, permanentLocation: The Bullet Club Glenelg, Glenelg SASalary: $80,000 per annum + superannuationExperience: Minimum 12 months' relevant experience
