You will be based in our Brisbane Head Office and employed on a permanent basis.About the role:As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the tendering of trades including scopes of work, cost planning, and preparation of estimates, tender pricing and submissions for key projects across Australia.Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will be responsible for, but not limited to the below;Maintain strong personable & commercial relationships with Clients, Consultants and Sub-ContractorsTender pricing, including rating of any Bill of Quantities providedEnsure full scope of work is costed for construction tendersPrepare schedule of preliminaries costsProvide estimating advice and comparative cost advice for alternatives if offeredIdentify risks and opportunities in design and tender documents and explore alternatives in order to ensure the targeted project margin is met or exceededReview and critically assess estimates provided by subcontractor pricingTake the lead role in the tendering of projects across several industry sectorsPreparation of tenders and BoQ'sCompletion of tender schedules and submission of tendersSubmission of RFI'sEssential Skills and Experience:Bachelor Degree in Construction Management or similar discipline preferredAt least 2 years' experience in civil estimatingSolid and proven experience working within commercial construction, quantity surveying or estimatingExtensive software skills in Expert Estimator, Aconex and MS ExcelOnsite experience will be considered advantageousAbility to read and dissect drawings and specificationsAbility to complete 1st principal take-off's and measurementExperience in all aspects of the tender process including analysis and reporting, procurement of subcontractors and suppliers and programming of worksExcellent verbal and written communication skillsWhat's on offer:Market-competitive salary based on the successful candidate's experienceA permanent position with a growing civil construction companyCareer progressionSponsorship is available for the right candidatePermanent full-time positionCompetitive salary range of $90,000 - $100,000About Us:Silverstrand is a privately owned and operated contractor operating across Australasia since ****, providing quality delivery in all areas of both civil and structural construction works in metro, regional and remote areas.
