We're looking for an experienced Employee Relations / Employment Law Specialist to join the Workplace Relations team on a 12-month contract.
It will have a robust focus on employment law, pay compliance, industrial relations and complex ER advice.
This position would suit someone who is technically strong, commercially minded and comfortable working independently across complex employment and workplace relations matters.
You will need to be confident navigating complex issues, interpreting legislation and industrial instruments, and translating technical requirements into clear and practical advice for the business.
Key responsibilities
Advise on pay compliance, governance and remediation matters
Interpret Enterprise Agreements, Modern Awards, the Fair Work Act and NES
Support Fair Work Ombudsman remediation and regulatory matters
Draft and review employment and executive contract clauses
Prepare advice, submissions and responses for Fair Work Commission matters
Provide advice across leave, redundancy, transfer of business, restraints and other ER matters
Support complex performance, misconduct and employment disputes
Monitor employment-related legislative and regulatory changes
Provide support to the Enterprise Agreement project where required
About You
You will be an experienced Employee Relations,
Workplace Relations or Employment Law professional with strong knowledge of Australian employment and industrial relations legislation.
Ideally, you will bring:
Strong knowledge of the Fair Work Act, NES, Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements
Experience in pay compliance, governance and/or remediation
Strong experience interpreting industrial instruments
Experience drafting and reviewing employment-related documentation
Exposure to Fair Work Commission and/or Fair Work Ombudsman matters
Experience managing complex ER matters and providing practical advice to stakeholders
Strong written communication and stakeholder management skills
An employment law or legal background would be highly regarded, including candidates who are admitted lawyers
Experience in banking, financial services or another highly regulated environment would be advantageous.
