If you're a Commercial Fit Out Project Manager who enjoys taking ownership of your projects, building great relationships with clients and trades and being part of a business where you're genuinely valued, this could be a fantastic next move.
Our client is a successful and growing Brisbane business specialising in commercial fit outs.
They have an established team, a strong pipeline of work and, importantly, a great base of trusted trades – many of whom have worked with the business for more than 10 years.
Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Project Manager who can take ownership of projects from construction commencement through to handover.Initially, this will be a hands-on role split approximately ***** between the office and site.
However, the plan is for this role to develop over the next six months into a more senior, predominantly office-based Project Management position, with a Site Manager/Site Supervisor working underneath you.

Your role will include:
Project managing commercial fit out projects from construction commencement through to completion and handover
Managing approximately 4-6 live projects at various stages
Developing construction programmes and project schedules




Working within agreed project budgets and ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget
Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and an established network of trades
Liaising closely with clients, building managers, consultants and other key stakeholders
Reviewing drawings and ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with documentation
Managing variations, defects and project close-out
Overseeing site safety requirements and ensuring appropriate standards and processes are followed
Conducting regular site visits and keeping projects moving
Working closely with the Operations team across project delivery
As the role develops, overseeing and managing Site Managers/Site Supervisors
Projects generally range from approximately $500K to $2.5M, with an average project value of around $700K.
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous Project Management experience within commercial fit outs/commercial builds and on site
A good understanding of commercial construction and internal fit out methodologies
Strong knowledge of trades and how a commercial site operates
The ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
Strong programming, scheduling and budget management skills
Excellent client and stakeholder management skills
A practical approach to problem solving - someone who can work things out and keep a project moving
Experience using Project Management software - Buildertrend would be an advantage but isn't essential




Previous site experience or a trade background would be beneficial, but isn't essential
The ability to travel to projects across Brisbane and occasionally the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast or Toowoomba - these would generally be day trips rather than overnight stays (unless you want to)
Most importantly, we're looking for the right person.

Someone who takes ownership, does what they say they're going to do and treats clients, trades and their team with respect
You'll need some resilience - construction doesn't always go perfectly - but you'll also be joining a business that wants to look after its people and build long-term relationships with them.
