Operating across an extensive store and customer network in Australia and New Zealand, the business is a recognised market leader.
Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, this role will play a key part in supporting commercial performance across a national network.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders across sales, operations and finance to deliver insight-led analysis, support promotional initiatives and drive improved financial outcomes.The ChallengeAs Commercial Analyst, your responsibilities will include:Delivering detailed analysis across sales, margins and operating costs, providing clear insights and recommendations to support performance improvementSupporting commercial finance activities including P&L; analysis, variance commentary and identifying key trends across the businessManaging customer rebate programs, including calculations, reporting, reconciliations and close engagement with sales teamsPreparing and enhancing commercial reporting packs, including KPI reporting, sales performance and capex trackingPartnering with stakeholders across sales and operations to support promotional activity and growth initiativesSupporting the preparation of business cases and providing financial input into key commercial decisionsAssisting with budgeting,



forecasting and planning processes, contributing to improved forward-looking visibilitySupporting month-end processes including management reporting and financial analysisThe ExpertiseTo be successful in this role, you will bring the following:2–5 years' experience within accountingBig 4 or Mid-tier chartered accounting experience is highly desirable, particularly for candidates looking to make their first move into industry that have exposure to large and complex clientsAdvanced Excel skills, with exposure to Power BI or similar reporting tools advantageousExcellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across finance, sales and operationsStrong analytical capability with ability to interpret data, identify trends and provide meaningful recommendations beyond the numbersHigh attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-focused mindsetTertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or Commerce, with CA or CPA qualification (or working towards)About ThompsonCookAt ThompsonCook we develop solid relationships with top accounting and finance professionals across Australia.
