The RoleThis is an opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a large Queensland State Government organisation in corporate finance.As Senior Financial Accountant, you will support statutory reporting and provide technical accounting expertise across the finance function.Key responsibilities include:Perform and review general ledger reconciliations, journals and month-end accounting activities, ensuring the integrity of financial recordsMonitor and strengthen internal controls, financial systems and assurance activities, proactively identifying financial risks and compliance issuesContribute to the CFO Assurance Plan and associated assurance activities across the departmentProvide technical financial accounting advice and support to stakeholders on accounting, financial management and administrative mattersMaintain and improve financial policies, procedures and controls, including the Financial Management Practice Manual (FMPM) and financial delegationsEnsure financial accounting records and systems comply with accounting standards, audit, legislative and departmental requirementsContribute to ongoing improvements in financial management practices,
