About the jobvan der Meer Consulting is a highly regarded civil and structural engineering consultancy delivering complex projects throughout Australia with offices in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.We are seeking a Senior Façade Engineer to join our Sydney team, which is conveniently located near St Leonards train station or Crows Nest Metro station.About the RoleAs an experienced Senior Facade Engineer, you will take ownership of the entire project, from design through to the construction phase, and will be responsible for liaising with stakeholders across different departments whilst liaising with clients for project delivery.Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not limited to:Facade engineering design and modelling (thermal performance, weather performance, material selection etc.)Condensation modellingPrepare façade specificationsPrepare façade engineering reportsWaterproofing detailing and inspectionsStructural analysis of facade elements (balustrades, glass, aluminium etc.)Knowledge of building constructionUnderstanding of building defectsAbility to problem solve when issues ariseDevelop client and contractor relationshipsSkills and Personal Attributes:Relevant tertiary qualificationsApproximately 10 years facade engineering experience,



preferably gained within Tier 1 and 2 consultancy environmentsKnowledgeable in all types of façade types, most glazing suppliers of systems available on local market, metal cladding, aluminium rainscreen systems, CFC façade, precast concrete façade panels and balustrades, louvres and shade systems, brick façade, curtain wall systemsCurtain Wall, Hebel Cladding, Masonry and Water proofing project experienceMust have experience in FP1.4 and Weatherproofing reportsUnderstanding of Standards and Legislation within the Building sectorCapable of facing stakeholders, clients, architects, contractors' representatives (glazing, precast, louvres etc.) and guiding them through design requirements for the onset of the projectsHigh level report writing skillsStrong verbal and written communicationskillsExcellent interpersonal skillStrong attention to detailMust demonstrate initiative and be a team playerRewards:Great range of benefits, including competitive salarySupportive and experienced team environmentProfessional development and valuable advancement prospectsRegular social eventsTo be considered for this position you must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
