The purpose of the role is for the preventative maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems and equipment in a manufacturing environment.
The role requires a strong understanding of electrical principles, codes, and safety procedures.
This role is responsible for working on various electrical systems and equipment at Preston and working collaboratively with the maintenance and production teams and other departments.Key responsibilitiesInstall, maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment in the manufacturing plantTroubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues to determine the appropriate repairs requiredConduct regular inspections of electrical systems and equipment to identify potential problems and prevent downtimeEnsure compliance with electrical codes, regulations and safety proceduresPlan and execute electrical projects,
including recent installations and upgradesCollaborate with other maintenance technicians and engineering staff to coordinate work and ensure efficient operationsMaintain accurate records of work performed and parts used in the maintenance of electrical systems and equipmentParticipate in training programs to maintain and enhance electrical skills and knowledgeRespond to emergency situations and work outside of regular business hours as requiredAbout youCompletion of an electrical apprenticeship and certification as an A grade ElectricianMinimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment as an A Grade ElectricianStrong knowledge of electrical systems and equipment, including AC motors, VSDs, PLCs, HMIs, and control circuitsAbility to read and interpret electrical schematicsFamiliarity with Australian electrical codes and regulationsAbility to work independently or as part of a teamGood communication and interpersonal skillsStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
