– Werribee VICThe NDIS Risk and Compliance Officer maintains, monitors and improves compliance across participant and worker records, ensuring the organisation meets the NDIS Practice Standards, NDIS Code of Conduct, applicable legislation, organisational policies and internal requirements.
The role conducts scheduled and ad hoc audits, identifies and records gaps, follows up outstanding documentation, monitors corrective actions and escalates high-risk or overdue matters.
As a quality assurance function, the role helps ensure participants receive services from appropriately qualified, screened and compliant workers, and that records are accurate, current, complete, secure and appropriately maintained.Key responsibilitiesRegularly audit participant records to confirm required documentation is current, accurate, complete and maintained in accordance with organisational requirements and the NDIS Practice StandardsMonitor expiry dates and review dates for participant documentation.Drive audits and ensure the company is audit ready.Review participant support plans and ensure they are current and appropriately implementedMonitor Risk Assessments and ensure identified risks have appropriate controlsReview participant Emergency Plans and ensure they remain currentAudit worker records and maintain accurate compliance registers and system informationVerify and monitor required screening, employment and role-specific evidence, including NDIS Worker Screening, Working with Children and police checks where applicable; First Aid and CPR; orientation, infection control, medication, manual handling and other mandatory training; qualifications; driver licence; vehicle registration and insurance; and employment documentationMonitor document and training expiry dates,



follow up outstanding items and identify workers with expired or incomplete requirementsVerify worker compliance status before allocation to participant supports and identify workers who are not authorised to be rostered because of compliance gapsIdentify compliance gaps and ensure appropriate corrective action is implemented, including assessing risk level, recording issues, notifying responsible persons, establishing corrective actions, monitoring progress and escalating overdue actionsAbout youMaintain an up-to-date understanding of NDIS Practice Standards, NDIS Code of Conduct, NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements, worker screening requirements, incident management requirements, reportable incident/SIRS requirements, complaints management requirements, privacy and confidentiality requirements, participant rights and safeguarding, restrictive practice requirements, medication management requirements, infection prevention and control requirements, Work Health and Safety requirements, and relevant employment and industrial requirements.Proficiency with organisational systems including VisualCare, SharePoint, Citation HR, compliance registers, training registers, incident registers, audit registers and corrective action registersAbility to maintain accurate, current, complete, legible, secure and appropriately named documentation stored in the correct location and accessible for authorised personnelAbility to actively support participant safeguarding and recognise potential indicators of abuse, neglect, exploitation, violence, financial abuse, sexual misconduct, unauthorised restrictive practices, poor-quality or unsafe supports, worker misconduct, privacy breaches and conflicts of interestAbility to elevate safeguarding concerns immediately in accordance with organisational procedures.Has audit experience and ensure there are non conformities.
