We are currently seeking an experienced CIAM Tech Lead for an 18-month contract with a Federal Government organisation.This is a hands-on technical leadership role suited to a solid software engineer who has extensive experience delivering Consumer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) solutions.
You'll be responsible for leading technical implementation, solving complex engineering problems, maintaining high-quality code and providing technical guidance to other engineers.As the CIAM Tech Lead, you will:Lead the implementation and delivery of complex CIAM solutionsDevelop and maintain high-quality, scalable and maintainable codeSolve complex technical and implementation challengesDesign solutions for advanced CIAM requirementsConduct code reviews and contribute to engineering best practicesContribute to estimation,



technical refinement and delivery planningMentor and support less experienced engineersWork with technical stakeholders and other teams to integrate CIAM solutions with existing systemsExplore emerging technologies and AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and code qualityEssential experience includes:Advanced unit and integration testing experience, including frameworks such as JestExtensive experience implementing complex CIAM solutionsStrong knowledge of OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect (OIDC)Experience customising and integrating CIAM platforms such as Auth0, Okta, ForgeRock, Ping or similarExperience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor or similarProven experience mentoring engineers and contributing to a collaborative engineering environmentExperience configuring and customising SaaS‐based CIAM servicesExperience building and integrating microservices in cloud environments, such as AWS, Azure or GCP
