This is a rare opportunity to work at the heart of an exciting major project with significant impact in Australia.In joining this high-calibre and collaborative legal team, you will support the corporate side of this fast-moving organisation and help ensure the business has the legal strategy, frameworks, processes and advice it needs as the project continues to evolve.This is a senior, hands-on Counsel role which will suit an experienced corporate and commercial generalist who enjoys becoming immersed in a business, building trusted relationships and providing transparent, timely advice from beginning to end.You will:Provide broad corporate, commercial and operational legal adviceDraft, review and negotiate a diverse range of commercial agreementsAdvise on key shareholder, financing and governance arrangementsSupport compliance frameworks, policy development and corporate governance initiativesProvide guidance and support to your direct report (paralegal/junior lawyer)Collaborate with the project-delivery legal team where corporate and project matters intersectThis environment is highly dynamic and priorities can change quickly.




Some matters will be complex & exciting and all issues require a technically strong lawyer who understands the business, gets across the detail and delivers practical advice without delay.About youAt least 9–10 years' post-admission experienceStrong private practice together with meaningful in-house experience is a mustBroad corporate and commercial legal capabilityExperience within a major-project, infrastructure, energy, government-related or highly regulated environmentExcellent judgement and exceptional attention to detailA responsive, pragmatic and highly collaborative approachThe confidence to work autonomously and engage effectively across the businessThe organisation offers a progressive, collegiate culture and genuine flexibility, including the potential for part-time arrangements or a nine-day fortnight.Candidates must be available to commence no later than the end of November ****, and an earlier start will be advantageous.Applications close strictly by Thursday 17 September ****.
