We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Open Pit Technical Services team.
This role is responsible for providing geotechnical support to ensure safe and productive mine development, production and infrastructure activities across Paddington Operations.Working closely with mining, geology and technical teams, this position plays a key role in managing ground control, monitoring pit stability and ensuring compliance with statutory and company requirements.Roster: 8:*********hrs (Residential or FIFO ex. We continue to grow through operational improvement, mine development and project expansion across our operations.Our vision is to be the leading gold producer, setting the industry benchmark in safety, teamwork, innovation, operational efficiency and cost control.What you will be doing:Conduct regular geotechnical inspections across active mining areas to ensure safe operating conditionsDevelop, review and maintain Ground Control Management Plans for open pit, underground and waste dump operationsMonitor pit, underground and dump stability and provide recommendations to manage geotechnical riskProvide technical advice to mining, geology and planning teams to optimise mine design and extractionCollect, analyse and report geotechnical data, recommending design or operational changes where requiredManage geotechnical investigations and coordinate consultants for pit,



dump and infrastructure designEnsure compliance with statutory requirements and geotechnical regulationsDeliver ground awareness training and provide guidance to operational personnelPerform duties as a statutory supervisor as requiredSupport continuous improvement in mine design, safety and operational performanceWhat we're looking for:Experience in Open Pit mining environmentsCurrent C Class Western Australian Drivers LicenceRelevant statutory supervisor qualifications or ability to obtainTertiary qualification in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering or related disciplineExperience with geotechnical mapping, logging, data analysis and mine designKnowledge of Ground Control Management Plans and geotechnical risk managementExperience using geotechnical software such as DIPS, UNWEDGE, Map3D, Surpac or similarStrong understanding of WA mining legislation and statutory requirementsAbility to communicate effectively with operational and technical teamsStrong report writing and analytical skillsWhat we offer:Permanent full-time role with an immediate start.Excellent remuneration package with additional allowances.Receive a $12k residential allowance per annum, if you are residential and not FIFO.Receive up to $5k site allowance per annum, depending on your site location.Receive up to 10% short-term incentive payment (STIP) of your base salary.A fully covered family private health insurance through GU Health Complete Gold Cover or allowance up to $5k.A fully covered Death and Total & Permanent Disability (TPD) insurance or allowance up to $2.4k.Pro-rata long service leave (LSL) after just 5 years of service and be entitled to 13 weeks paid LSL after 10 years of service.Norton is recognised as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality by the Australian Government's Workplace Gender Equality Agency.
