Take ownership of busy legal accounts function with highly respected specialist law firm | Manage day-to-day financial operations | CBD | HybridHighly regarded specialist law firm | Melbourne CBDAutonomous, hands-on role | Work closely with the Practice Manager & PartnersAttractive salary | Flexible and hybrid work optionsAbout the roleOur client is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager with solid law firm accounting and trust accounting experience to manage the day-to-day financial operations of the practice.Reporting to the Practice Manager, you will work closely with Partners, Lawyers and support staff, ensuring the firm's office and trust accounts are accurate, compliant and running smoothly.What's on offerOn offer is an attractive salary package plus fantastic employee perks.DutiesSome of your duties will include, but not be limited to:-Accounts Payable & DisbursementsProcessing client and office creditors, anticipated disbursements and expense reimbursementsEnsuring payments and disbursements are accurately allocated to client mattersTrust & Office AccountsCompleting daily trust and office account banking and reconciliationsManaging investment bank accountsInvestigating discrepancies and ensuring compliance with legal trust accounting requirementsResponding to staff queries relating to billing and trust accountsDebtor ManagementMonitoring outstanding debtors and aged receivablesAssisting with collections and matter financial managementPreparing fortnightly lawyer productivity reportsAssisting with budgets, adjustments and financial reportingSupporting EOFY tax and accounting requirementsAssisting with staff training on budgets, trust accounting and complianceSkills and experienceThe skills and experience of the ideal candidate we'd love include:-Previous accounts experience within a law firm - essentialStrong trust accounting experience – essentialExperience with reconciliations, accounts payable and debtor managementSound knowledge of legal accounting and compliance requirementsIntermediate to advanced Excel skillsExcellent attention to detail, organisation and ability to manage competing prioritiesYou will be a confident, hands-on accounts professional who enjoys taking ownership of your role and being a trusted resource to the wider firm.If you have strong law firm accounts and trust accounting experience and are looking for your next long-term move, we would love to hear from you.About the firmOur client is a highly regarded specialist law practice based in the CBD.
