The Senior Legal Counsel is responsible for providing high-quality legal advice across Greenstone's operations while acting as a senior advisor to business leaders on complex commercial, regulatory and governance matters.Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Providing strategic and commercially pragmatic legal advice across all business divisions including Product, Marketing, Partnerships, Operations, Technology and CompliancePartnering with senior business leaders to achieve commercial outcomes while appropriately managing legal and regulatory risk within the context of financial servicers regulationDrafting, negotiating and advising on complex commercial arrangements, strategic partnerships, supplier and other commercial arrangementsProviding advice on financial services legislation and regulatory obligationsSupporting implementation of regulatory change initiativesAssisting with regulator engagement, including responses to ASIC, APRA, AFCA, OAIC and other regulatory bodiesProviding legal input into governance frameworks, Board papers and executive decision makingProviding legal advice regarding AFC complaints, investigations and remediation activitiesSupporting incident management, breach assessments and regulatory reportingWhat are we looking for?
Bachelor of Laws (LLB or equivalent)Approximately 8 – 12 years' post-admission experienceSignificant in-house legal experience in financial servicesInsurance, superannuation or wealth management experience highly desirableStrong experience advising on commercial contracts and corporate transactionsDemonstrated experience managing complex legal matters independentlyStrong commercial judgement and the ability to work autonomouslyExceptional written and verbal communication skillsAbility to influence senior stakeholders and excellent negotiation skillsHigh levels of integrity,
