We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Officer to join our team.
The position is a newly created role within VMG that will run the AR function across the VMG group of businesses with the support of the existing Finance team.
The role will be hands-on whilst we build out the finance team, processes and functions during our growth phase.
Key responsibilities
Generate and send invoices to clients accurately and promptly in accordance with contractual terms and billing schedules
Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely receipt of payments and reconcile any discrepancies or issues with internal teams or clients
Proactively follow up with clients on overdue payments through email, phone calls, or other communication channels to expedite collections and reduce outstanding balances
Allocate incoming payments to appropriate customer accounts and maintain accurate records of all transactions in the accounting system
Build and maintain solid relationships with clients to address billing queries, resolve disputes, and ensure payment compliance
Prepare regular accounts receivable reports and aging analysis for internal meetings
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and relevant regulations when processing financial transactions
Work collaboratively with the finance team, sales department, and other stakeholders to foster a cohesive and productive working environment




About you
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
Proven experience (3 years) in accounts receivable, credit control, or relevant financial roles
Proficiency in using accounting software and/or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for invoicing, payments, and financial reporting.
Xero software experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients, internal teams, and external partners effectively
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines
Analytical mindset with the capacity to identify and resolve issues related to accounts receivable
A customer-centric approach with a focus on maintaining positive relationships with clients during the payment process
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
