The Role
You will provide specialist Anatomical Pathology services within a major tertiary referral and teaching environment, supporting clinical decision-making across a broad range of surgical, oncology and multidisciplinary services.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing high-level diagnostic Anatomical Pathology services
Participating in tissue review meetings and multidisciplinary discussions
Working collaboratively with scientific staff and other health professionals
Providing undergraduate teaching to medical students
Supervising and training postgraduate specialist trainees
Participating in research activities and supporting research students
Monitoring and contributing to the quality and effectiveness of pathology services
Contributing to quality improvement, clinical governance and workplace safety initiatives
Participating in administrative activities within the department
Participating in on-call services as required
What We’re Looking For
Specialist registration with AHPRA or eligibility through an appropriate specialist pathway
Relevant specialist qualification in Anatomical Pathology
Robust diagnostic pathology experience
Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
Commitment to teaching, supervision and professional development
Interest in research and academic medicine
Commitment to quality improvement and clinical governance
RCPA autopsy certificates in adult and/or perinatal pathology, or equivalent, desirable
