Payroll Officer - Macquarie Park

This is a Permanent Full-Time opportunity (38 hours per week) reporting directly to the Payroll Manager and will work onsite at our Macquarie Park Headquarters.

Job Description

What we can offer you:

- Salary starting from $102,000 plus Super, with 100% salary packaging to maximise your take home pay

Key duties and responsibilities:

- End to end payroll processing using the ichris payroll system which inlude:
- Administering salaries and wages, ensuring employees are paid accurately and in a timely manner each fortnight using the iChris payroll system.
- Maintaining accurate employee pay records, associated timesheets, leave records and related information within iChris to support the efficient administration of payroll.
- Maintaining award data within iChris and ensure wage payments comply with applicable awards, relevant agreements and common law contracts.
- Processing employee commencements and ensure recent employees are accurately and appropriately set up in the iChris payroll system.
- Processing employee terminations and final pay calculations in accordance with organisational requirements and relevant legislatio
- Supporting payroll administration for an organisation with a typical employee headcount of 400+.
- Assisting the Payroll Team with payroll-related tasks and duties as required,



including maintaining and updating payroll information within iChris
- Working collaboratively with other team members to ensure the effective and timely delivery of payroll services.
- Following workplace health and safety programs and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for self and others.
- Performing any other reasonable duties as required or assigned by your manager.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You:

- Demonstrated experience and sound working knowledge of payroll preparation and processing, preferably within a medium to large organisation.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience using the iChris payroll system, including processing payroll, maintaining employee records, processing commencements and terminations, and managing payroll-related information.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply relevant Awards, Determinations, Enterprise Agreements and other employment conditions.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential payroll information and sensitive employee matters with discretion and professionalism.
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong customer service focus and commitment to delivering timely and responsive payroll support.
- Robust computer literacy, including intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage competing deadlines effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy, particularly when processing payroll and maintaining employee records.
- Demonstrated ability to meet strict payroll deadlines and work effectively under time constraints




- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate payroll-related information clearly and professionally.
- Ability and willingness to become familiar with and comply with applicable child protection policies, procedures and legislation, as amended from time to time.
