At Siemens, we're continuing to grow, and we're looking for an experienced Bid Engineer to join our Electrification & Automation team. This is an exciting opportunity to combine your electrical engineering expertise with your commercial and customer-facing skills, helping develop innovative solutions for some of Australia's most significant projects.

Working across Power Automation & Control Systems, Protection Systems and Medium Voltage Switchgear, you'll play a key role in turning customer requirements into technically robust and commercially competitive solutions.

You'll work alongside experienced sales, engineering, project management, procurement and operations professionals, giving you broad exposure across the full bid lifecycle and the opportunity to build your technical and commercial capability.

What you'll do

Reporting to the Tender Manager - Systems & Solutions, you'll lead and coordinate bids from initial enquiry through to submission, ensuring proposals are technically compliant, commercially viable and aligned to customer requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Reviewing RFQs, RFTs and customer specifications to understand scope, compliance requirements, risks and opportunities.
- Developing technical solutions across SCADA, RTU, protection, substation automation, MV switchgear, power distribution and industrial communications.
- Preparing technical compliance documentation, system architectures, equipment schedules and supporting bid documentation.
- Developing cost estimates, bills of materials and pricing structures in collaboration with procurement, engineering and suppliers.
- Identifying technical and commercial risks, assumptions and exclusions.
- Working closely with sales teams to develop customer-focused solutions and support opportunity qualification.
- Participating in customer clarification meetings, technical workshops and presentations.




- Coordinating multiple stakeholders and deliverables to ensure high-quality, on-time submissions.
- Contributing to continuous improvement through lessons learned, standardisation, technical libraries and improved bid processes.

What you'll bring

We're looking for an electrical engineering qualified who enjoys solving complex problems and working collaboratively to develop solutions.

You'll ideally bring:

- 3-5+ years' experience in bid engineering, tendering, proposals, sales engineering or electrical engineering.
- Experience developing technical and commercial proposals for complex electrical projects.
- Knowledge in one or more of MV switchgear, protection relays, power system protection, SCADA/RTU, substation automation, IEC 61850, industrial communications or electrical distribution systems.
- The ability to interpret single-line diagrams, technical specifications, drawings and customer requirements.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of project delivery and bid governance.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A highly organised, analytical and solution-focused approach.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across technical and commercial teams.
