Located in South Bowenfels, the Lithgow Campus is considered as a comprehensive community health centre supporting approximately 20,000 people living in the town and surrounding areas. The services available in Lithgow hospital include Domiciliary care unit, Emergency department, Geriatric assessment unit, Obstetric services, Paediatric service, Drug and Alcohol unit.
An exciting chance exists for an experienced and dynamic Nurse Unit Manager to lead a diverse rural health service and play a key role in delivering high quality, patient-centred care. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing a broad range of clinical services, including a 28-bed Mixed Medical, Surgical, Aged Care and Palliative Care Inpatient Unit, an Obstetric Service, and an Ambulatory Care Service.
As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of the unit environment and will provide strong clinical and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and compassionate care. You will lead and support nursing and multidisciplinary teams, promote excellence in patient outcomes,
and foster a culture of continuous improvement and person-centred care.
Working within the vision of the NBMLHD Nursing and Midwifery Workforce, you will collaborate closely with patients, families, carers and healthcare professionals to ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with contemporary best practice. You will be pivotal in coordinating patient care, managing workforce and financial resources, supporting staff development, and maintaining high standards of clinical governance across the service.

What you will bring to the role * Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) AND extensive relevant post registration nursing and Midwifery experience.
- Demonstrated ability to create and support a culture of integrity and professionalism which adheres to legislation and policy.
- Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills and ability to liaise and negotiate with clinicians, managers, staff and other key stakeholders.
- Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the unit/ward are managed to deliver safe and efficient health care within available resources.
- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to motivate, inspire and manage staff to achieve service and organizational goals utilising change management principles.
- Evidence of and commitment to patient/client/customer focused care, clinical governance and quality improvement.
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation, Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment.
- Current Driver's License and ability to travel within the LHD as required.
