Objective:
THE PROJECT ACCOUNTANT II PROVIDES FINANCIAL GOVERNANCE AND CONTROL OVER PROJECTS THROUGHOUT THEIR LIFECYCLE BY LEADING PROJECT INCEPTION HANDOVERS, MONITORING COST AND REVENUE PERFORMANCE, AND ENSURING ACCURATE MONTH END REPORTING AND FORECASTING. THE ROLE PROACTIVELY REVIEWS CONTRACTUAL BILLABILITY, VALIDATES ACCRUALS AND ADJUSTMENTS, AND SUPPORTS INFORMED DECISION MAKING THROUGH TIMELY ANALYSIS OF MARGINS, COLLECTIONS, AND PROJECT PERFORMANCE. WORKING CLOSELY WITH PROJECT MANAGERS, PROJECT CONTROLS, PARTNERS AND FINANCE TEAM, THE PROJECT ACCOUNTANT II ENSURES DISCIPLINED FINANCIAL EXECUTION, COMPLIANCE WITH LOCAL & CORPORATE ACCOUNTING AND CONTRACTUAL REQUIREMENTS, AND TRANSPARENT REPORTING OF PROJECT OUTCOMES.
Responsibilities:
- Support recent project setup and financial handover activities, ensuring accurate project structure, controls, and alignment with approved contractual and financial requirements.
- Perform weekly reviews of cost and revenue exceptions, monitor gross margin performance, and track collections, working with project teams to resolve identified issues.
- Review contractual billability of resource assignments to ensure costs and revenue are recorded and billed in compliance with contract terms and client agreements.
- Review and validate month‑end accruals, overhead allocations, and gross margin to ensure accurate and compliant project financial results.
- Review and prepare actions of follow up related to cost rates, write‑offs, work in progress, billing in excess and revenue checklist.
- Work collaboratively and in coordination with partners and the accounting outsourcing provider.
Qualifications
Requirements:
University Degree, or equivalent, in related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. Typically 5 to 10 years relevant experience.
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g. pivot tables, VLOOKUPS & XLOOKUPS, and data analysis); Word and PowerPoint.
Strong analytical skills, with the desire to develop and apply problem-solving skills for our team
Able to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Experience working in multinational companies and/or across different locations.
Experience in the oil & gas sector is desirable (not mandatory).
Knowledge of Oracle ERP - GBS, or similar systems is desirable.
English proficiency at B1–B2 level.
