Chadwick Geotechnics is a leading supplier of testing, and engineering services to the Geotechnical, Civil and Environmental Engineering disciplines across the Eastern seaboard, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific Region.

We specialise in site investigations, geotechnical design, environmental assessments, and ground engineering solutions, as well as offering a comprehensive range of instrumentation and monitoring services. Our clients come from a diverse range of sectors, including construction, infrastructure, mining, energy, and government.

The opportunity

We have a excellent position for a motivated and reliable Field and Laboratory Technician to support our technical team across laboratory testing and field investigation activities on a casual contract basis.

This role is suited to someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and is keen to develop their technical skills within the geotechnical industry. You will work both independently and as part of a team, receiving training and guidance to undertake field and laboratory services safely, accurately and professionally.

What you'll be doing

Laboratory Testing

- Assist with laboratory testing in accordance with procedures, safety requirements and relevant Australian and international standards.
- Develop knowledge of laboratory practices and operations.
- Complete quality assurance testing, maintain accurate records and report results.
- Keep laboratory areas and equipment clean, organised and safe.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team, managing tasks and time efficiently.

Field Testing




- Undertake training in field equipment and testing procedures.
- Assist with supervised field investigations, following directions and working safely and professionally.
- Complete field records and testing documentation accurately.
- Travel to project sites as required.

Quality Assurance
- Conduct laboratory and field quality assurance testing in accordance with relevant standards, procedures and codes of practice.
- Support consistent quality system application and promptly report issues, non-conformances or equipment concerns.

Health & Safety
- Comply with company HSE policies, procedures, SWMS and safe operating requirements.
- Complete all required training, inductions and health assessments.
- Hold a valid Construction Industry Card (CIC) and driver's licence.
- Wear and maintain company-provided PPE.
- Work safely, report hazards and incidents promptly, and use equipment responsibly.
- Support environmentally sustainable work practices.

- Comfortable working outdoors, in laboratories and on active project sites.

Essential Requirements

- A valid driver's licence for the vehicle you are operating.
- A Construction Industry Card (CIC).
- Willingness to complete all required company, project and industry training.
