We are currently seeking applications for a Principal Financial Accountant (0.8 FTE) to join the Financial Accounting Team located in Adelaide CBD at the Department of Treasury & Finance.

Shared Services SA (SSSA) deliver essential business and finance services across areas of payroll, accounts payable and receivable, tax and financial accounting, and business systems which enable government agencies to focus on serving the community. As Principal Financial Accountant,



you will lead the delivery of high-quality financial accounting services that support transparency, accountability and sound financial management across government. Your expertise will help agencies meet statutory reporting obligations, strengthen governance and provide confidence in financial decision-making that benefits South Australians.

In this role, you will:

- Lead the preparation of complex financial statements and audit processes.
- Provide expert financial accounting and management advice.
- Support and develop a high-performing accounting team.
- Strengthen financial governance, compliance and reporting practices.
- Drive continuous improvement across financial accounting services.
- Build trusted relationships with agencies and key stakeholders.

Remuneration

ASO7 ($116,089 – $125,490 p.a.) + 12% Superannuation

What you bring

- Experience preparing complex financial statements and audit documentation.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial compliance requirements.
- The ability to provide trusted financial advice and practical solutions.
- Robust stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience leading, motivating and supporting teams to achieve outcomes.




- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and service excellence.
- Degree level qualification in accounting, finance, economics (or equivalent) and eligibility for membership to a professional accounting body.
