About the role

Provide high-quality nursing and/or midwifery services across a range of health service settings,



demonstrating competent to proficient clinical practice and accountability for own practice and delegated activities. Support the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager or equivalent in providing leadership, guidance and development to nursing and midwifery staff. Assist Nurse Educator with service management responsibilities, including practice changes, performance management, education plans, quality improvement.

Key duties of the role

- Contribute to competency improvement and analysis, measurement and evaluation of education and professional development.
- Identifying hazards, assessing risks and implementing, monitoring and maintaining hazard control measures.
- Contribute to the support of undergraduate and post graduate students in clinical placements.
- Establishing, implementing and evaluating systems, which ensure best practice/evidence and patient/client outcomes.
- Provides leadership and direction, acts a role model, mentor, consultant and resource person.

Skills and Experience

- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
- Ability to prepare and undertake presentations of a high standard in a range of educational setting to both community and professional groups.
- Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with at least 3 years,



full time equivalent, post registration experience
- Demonstrated recent competence in Scrub/Scout nursing.
