Psychiatry Registrar | Northern Territory

An exciting opportunity is available for Psychiatry Registrars to join a specialist mental health and alcohol and other drugs service in the Northern Territory.

This six-month fixed-term opportunity is ideal for doctors undertaking psychiatry training who are looking to gain broad clinical experience while progressing through the RANZCP training program.

The Role

You will provide clinical services to patients within a specialist mental health and alcohol and other drugs service at Training Registrar level.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will gain exposure to a broad range of psychiatric presentations while participating fully in the postgraduate psychiatry training program.

Key responsibilities include:

- Providing psychiatric assessment and clinical management under appropriate supervision
- Participating in multidisciplinary assessment and treatment planning
- Supporting the delivery of high-quality mental health care
- Managing a range of psychiatric presentations across the service
- Working collaboratively with medical, nursing and allied health professionals




- Participating in clinical reviews and case discussions
- Contributing to clinical documentation, handover and ongoing patient management
- Participating in education, supervision and professional development activities
- Progressing relevant requirements of the RANZCP training program

What We're Looking For

- Medical registration with AHPRA or eligibility for registration
- Appropriate experience and interest in psychiatry
- Applicants progressing through or seeking entry to RANZCP psychiatry training
- Solid clinical assessment and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
- Ability to work in a diverse clinical workplace
