About the role

This role is a key position in the business and requires someone with passion, resilience and advanced organisational skills.

Some key tasks include:

- Working with the administration team on client homes to meet preconstruction expectations.

- Producing preliminary drawings, planning drawings, working drawings for contract documents and prestart drawings.

- Ensuring drawings are compliant to the NCC, R-Codes, shire policies and developers' covenants for the purpose of shire submission.

- Carrying out amendments to working drawings in accordance with variation orders raised.

- Raising drafting clarifications as a result of design feasibility and shire requirements.

- Liaising with engineers, energy assessor and surveyors to ensure information received is timely and correct.

Note: This is an office based position, not remote or contract. Applicants must hold permanent Australian work rights (Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or a New Zealand Special Category Visa).

Skills and attributes:

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

- Strong knowledge of building codes, residential design codes, and other relevant standards.

- Ability to interpret DAP’s, LDP’s, Structural plans.

- Thorough understanding of construction principles and methods.

- Problem solving ability, you can overcome barriers and find solutions.

- Ability to produce working drawings and contract drawings.

- Ability to work unsupervised.

- You are honest, trustworthy, and show a positive attitude towards your work.

- You have a can-do team attitude.

- Current authority to work full time in Australia with no restrictions.

Qualifications and experience required:

- 2+ years of experience in residential building.

- Certificate IV in Residential Building Drafting or equivalent.

- Proficiency in ArchiCAD.
