We are looking for an entrepreneurial Credit Risk Officer to become an integral part of our team. We want to create exceptional home buying experiences for Australians and, as we rapidly scale, we see the combination of highly skilled credit assessors with our technology as key to our growth.
We think that this role will be perfect for an experienced credit risk manager who has a track record in quickly dissecting diverse and complex consumer lending scenarios. We’re after somebody who’s up for not only assessing credit applications but also with time, developing and mentoring others.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for somebody who is organised, has a meticulous eye for detail, with a focus on maintaining the highest risk and compliance standards. You must be passionate and proactive about meeting quality and performance expectations, supporting our loan consultants in delivering exceptional customer service outcomes. We’re an agile group of people at Yard… we execute quickly and will love you if you are a good team player with self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously. We will also love you more if you have:
- 8+ years’ experience within an Authorised Deposit-taking Institution or non-bank lender, holding a Delegated Lending Authority (DLA) within consumer residential mortgage lending;
- A proven record in dealing with diverse and complex lending scenarios,
with a focus on residential mortgages;
- Diligent skills in managing a pipeline of customer transactions with multiple tasks and deadlines;
- The ability to build rapport, show empathy whilst building strong and long-term customer partnerships;
- A history in meeting risk, compliance and quality requirements set down by a non-bank lender or bank and/or any institutional funding partners;
- Previous experience in managing a team of credit risk professionals, or a willingness to take on this responsibility in the future;
- A track record in developing and maintaining risk management strategies and policies;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- A strong attention to detail;
- Commercial acumen.
