An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Security Facilities Manager to join our team at Canberra Centre, the ACT’s largest shopping centre.

This is a security-focused leadership position with broader facilities management responsibilities. You will take the lead on security operations, compliance, team capability, incident management and stakeholder relationships, while also supporting the Facilities Manager across cleaning, maintenance and customer service operations when required.

What you will be doing

- Lead the day-to-day delivery of security services across Canberra Centre
- Build strong relationships with the client, retailers, stakeholders and local law enforcement
- Lead, coach, train and develop the security team to deliver a professional and customer-focused service
- Manage security rostering,



resourcing and workforce coverage
- Ensure security operations meet contractual, legislative, licensing and Assetlink compliance requirements
- Maintain strong security governance, operational standards and reporting
- Manage and oversee incident response, investigations and follow-up actions
- Prepare operational reports and participate in regular client and stakeholder meetings
- Monitor security performance against agreed KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement
- Support budget management, labour controls and other security-related financial requirements
- Identify operational risks and implement practical strategies to address them
- Drive continuous improvement across security operations, training and service delivery
- Support the Facilities Manager with broader site operations and act as a key point of contact when the Facilities Manager is unavailable
- Provide operational oversight across cleaning, maintenance and customer service teams when covering leave or as operationally required
- Support rostering, training, compliance and budget adherence across other service lines when required
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with WHS requirements

What you will bring

- Demonstrated experience leading security operations, ideally within a retail, shopping centre or similar high-traffic environment
- Strong experience managing and developing security teams
- Sound knowledge of security compliance, governance and operational procedures
- Experience managing incidents, investigations and operational risk
- Strong understanding of rostering, workforce planning and labour management
- Demonstrated client and stakeholder relationship management experience
- Confidence working with local police, emergency services and other external stakeholders




- Experience managing performance and employee relations matters
- Strong leadership, coaching and influencing skills
- Sound commercial awareness and experience working within operational budgets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong reporting and administrative capability
- Ability to operate effectively in a culturally and linguistically diverse environment
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach to operational challenges
- Strong computer skills
- Knowledge of WHS practices and relevant legislation
- Flexibility to support operational requirements outside standard hours when required

Experience across broader facilities services such as cleaning, maintenance or customer service will be highly regarded, however your primary professional background should be within security operations and leadership .
