We are partnering with underground mining operations in regional NSW that are expanding their development crews and need experienced jumbo operators. The opportunity

Development is where an underground mine grows. The jumbo operator drills the face and installs the ground support that lets the rest of the crew work safely behind them, and the quality of the drill pattern shows in every metre advanced.

These are residential roles on an even-time roster such as 7 on, 7 off. You live in a regional town and go home at the end of each shift instead of flying in and out. Company accommodation and drive-in drive-out arrangements are available while you settle.

We are seeking operators with solid time on twin-boom development jumbos, ideally Sandvik or Epiroc, who read ground well and take pride in a clean, accurate face.

Key responsibilities: Jumbo Operator

- Operate a twin-boom development jumbo to drill face, cut and ground support patterns to plan

- Install ground support including split-sets, resin and mesh bolts, and mesh

- Read ground conditions and adjust drill patterns and support where required, in consultation with the shift supervisor

- Carry out pre-start checks, basic servicing and fault reporting on the jumbo

- Mark up and scale the face, and maintain a clean, safe heading

- Work with charge-up,



bogger and truck crews to keep the development cycle moving

- Follow site safety systems, including isolations, permits and ground control standards

About you

- Experience: a minimum of 2 years operating a development jumbo in an underground hard rock mine. Twin-boom experience is essential; Sandvik DD or DT series and Epiroc Boomer experience is highly regarded.

- Technical skills: accurate drilling to pattern, competent ground support installation, sound understanding of ground conditions and development standards.

- Soft skills: reliable, safety-focused, explicit communicator and a steady team member on a small crew.

- Adaptability and learning: willing to work across headings and adapt to different ground and equipment.

- Licences and certifications: a current manual driver's licence. Underground inductions, first aid, working at heights and a dangerous goods security card are an advantage.
