Rum City Foods is a local, family owned and operated foodservice distributor with depots in Bundaberg, Maryborough, Gladstone and Rockhampton.

We are looking for a highly organised, practical and proactive individual to join our team as a Compliance Officer – Fleet & Facilities . This is a hands‑on role supporting our Compliance/HACCP Team, with a key focus on vehicle fleet and Chain of Responsibility (CoR), depot and facilities compliance, Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) and associated compliance records. The role also assists with Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) and HACCP requirements, including audits, staff training and inductions, corrective actions and continuous improvement across the business.

Based at our Bundaberg Head Office, the role will require travel between Rum City Foods depots to inspect vehicles, equipment and facilities, complete compliance checks and work with our depot teams. This position also provides operational support when required, including assisting as a multi‑drop Delivery Driver and Picker/Loader. A current truck licence is therefore a mandatory requirement for this position.

Flexibility is also required, as there may be occasions where work outside usual hours, including later hours or occasional Saturday work, is required to complete inspections, training or other operational/compliance tasks.

Your responsibilities will include:

Visiting Rum City Foods depots to complete fleet, vehicle, equipment, facilities and WHS compliance checks.

Completing and following up Vehicle Monthly Checklists and monitoring Vehicle Daily Checklists.

Maintaining vehicle/fleet records, registers and tracking spreadsheets.

Tracking identified vehicle servicing,



maintenance and other required actions through to completion.

Identifying and reporting vehicle, equipment, depot and WHS issues and following up required actions.

Assisting with depot WHS requirements, workplace inspections and compliance/safety documentation.

Maintaining accurate records for vehicles, plant, Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and other equipment.

Providing compliance information and data to the Compliance & Project Co‑Ordinator and Management to ensure records and documentation remain current.

Assisting with fleet and CoR compliance requirements.

Assisting with driver training and maintaining relevant training and competency records.

Conducting new employee site inductions and maintaining induction and training records.

Assisting with internal audits, compliance checks and corrective actions.

Assisting with WHS, Food Safety/HACCP and other compliance training.

Maintaining electronic filing systems and ensuring compliance documentation is accurate and complete.

Working with drivers, depot staff and Management to follow up outstanding compliance requirements and actions.

Identifying opportunities to improve safety, compliance and fleet/facilities processes across the business.

Assisting as a multi‑drop Delivery Driver and Picker/Loader when required to support operational requirements.





To be successful in this position, you must have:

A practical, hands‑on approach and willingness to work across both office and depot environments.

Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

A current truck/heavy vehicle licence.

Confidence following up outstanding tasks, paperwork and corrective actions.

Robust communication and problem‑solving skills.

Excellent organisational and time management skills.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Willingness and ability to travel between Rum City Foods depots as required.

A good understanding of workplace safety and the importance of accurate compliance records.

Willingness to learn and develop knowledge across WHS, fleet, CoR, Food Safety and HACCP requirements.

Flexibility to assist with driving, picking/loading and other operational requirements when required.

Previous experience in fleet, transport, WHS, compliance, warehousing, heavy vehicles or a similar operational environment would be highly regarded. Training in Rum City Foods' specific compliance systems and requirements will be provided.
