What you'll be doing

The Data Manager effectively and efficiently manages the information systems/data of the Emergency by ensuring the quality and integrity of the data.
This position is responsible for providing administrative support for all reporting requirements relation to Emergency Department data. The role supports the Emergency Department in the delivery of safe quality care by the timely reporting of data that support operational patient flow.
Meet pre-determined targets, benchmarks and deadlines determined by the Ministry of Health; statistical reports for strategic planning and performance measurements to the Director and Nurse Manager of Emergency as well as reports for internal audits in other clinical departments. They also design morbidity/mortality reports for research purposes for use within and outside the hospital.
They will assist ED management in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to provide better outcomes for the clients of the Emergency Department.

- Previous experience in Health Information Management or in process of obtaining this qualification
- Competent in the use of relevant computer applications Excel, Access, Outlook, Microsoft Word
- A sound understanding of NSW Health Core Values and confidentiality
- Demonstrated attention to detail, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Proven ability to prioritise tasks and meet pre-determined targets and deadlines
- Qualifications/or demonstrated experience using Medical Terminology and ability to interpret medical records for required information and results
- Experience in working in multiple Teams and engaging clinicians in data interpretation
