Occupational Therapist in Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital, Acute Mental Health Unit will be a champion of the hospital's commitment to providing recovery-orientated, innovative approaches to supporting our consumers and will bring clinical expertise in the field of mental health. The Occupational Therapist will work collaboratively with consumers, carers, members of the multidisciplinary team and external stakeholders.

Where you'll be working

Adult Mental Health Unit at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital.

What you'll be doing

Provide highly quality, evidence-based occupational therapy services. This will include:

Undertaking a range of functional assessments, designing, implementing and evaluating person-centred care plans and group-based programs, use of sensory modulation and other specialised interventions, all with the aim of supporting consumers to build on daily living, prevocational, social and leisure skills to support their transition within the hospital and working towards discharge to the community.
Demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning and expertise within the field of mental health promoting consistent provision of safe, high-quality, person-centred care.
Consult and liaise with other health professionals and stakeholders in order to ensure a coordinated approach to care and discharge planning.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy and full registration with AHPRA.
- Experience in mental health assessment, care coordination and treatment/interventions, including group work.

Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Occupational Therapy models of practice for mental health interventions.
