As we continue to grow in Australia and international markets, we are seeking an experienced Quality & Compliance Lead to strengthen our quality systems, drive continual improvement, and ensure quality and compliance requirements are embedded across the organisation.

The Opportunity

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for quality assurance, quality systems and compliance governance across Coolon.

Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Management, Supply Chain and Quality, you will lead the development and improvement of systems that support consistent product quality, effective risk management and reliable compliance outcomes. You will be comfortable moving between high-level system improvement and practical problem-solving on the factory floor, with suppliers and within product development teams.

Quality and compliance form the core of this role, with product safety and certification forming an significant part of the overall responsibilities. Prior product certification experience is highly regarded; however, you will also have the opportunity to further develop your technical expertise in specialised areas, including hazardous-area certification.

Your leadership will help ensure Coolon continues to deliver innovative, reliable products that meet the expectations of our customers, regulators and global markets.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, maintain and continuously improve Coolon’s Quality Management System, including ISO 9001 processes, procedures, records and governance.

Plan and lead internal audits, coordinate external audits, and ensure findings and corrective actions are effectively addressed and closed.





Lead investigations into nonconformances, quality issues and customer complaints, including root-cause analysis, corrective actions and effectiveness reviews.

Establish and monitor meaningful quality metrics, identify trends and drive practical improvement initiatives across the business.

Work closely with Manufacturing and Engineering to strengthen process control, product quality, inspection requirements and release criteria.

Drive supplier quality improvement by monitoring performance, managing nonconformances and corrective actions, and addressing recurring quality issues.

Maintain effective document control, change control, risk management and traceability across relevant business and product processes.

Support quality planning for new products and product changes, including design reviews, verification and validation, test records and release documentation.

Maintain product compliance systems and records, and coordinate testing and certification activities with Engineering, external laboratories and certification bodies as required.

Monitor relevant standards and regulatory changes and translate requirements into practical actions for Engineering and Manufacturing.

Provide guidance and training to promote a strong and consistent quality and compliance culture throughout the organisation.

Skills & Experience

A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Science or a related technical discipline.

Demonstrated experience in a Quality, Quality Assurance, Quality Systems or Compliance leadership role within a manufacturing, engineering or technical environment.

Strong practical knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, including internal audits and external certification, customer and regulatory audit processes.

Demonstrated experience managing nonconformances, root-cause investigations,



corrective actions and continual improvement.

Sound understanding of document control, change control, risk management and process governance.

Experience working collaboratively across Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain and other cross-functional teams.

Ability to interpret technical and regulatory requirements, analyse issues and implement practical, sustainable improvements.

Strong written communication, technical documentation and stakeholder-management skills.

Highly Regarded

Experience in several of the following areas will be highly regarded:

Working with regulatory authorities, external testing laboratories and certification bodies.

Experience managing product certification activities from development through to market release.

Supplier quality, supplier audits and supplier development.

Structured problem-solving and quality methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, 5 Whys, Lean or Six Sigma.

Product verification and validation or ISO 17025 laboratory environments.

ERP-based quality systems and manufacturing-quality data analysis.

International approval frameworks such as RCM, CE, UL and EMC.

Hazardous-area products and certification, including IECEx, ATEX, UL844 or IEC 60079.

Connected products, wireless technologies, industrial IoT, DALI, D4i or Zhaga.
