Join our team as a Carer Support Advisor and provide compassionate, phone-based support to carers across Victoria.

About the role

The Carer Support Advisor provides emotional support, system navigation, information, advice, referrals, and program administration for carers. This phone-based, clinical role conducts thorough needs assessments that guide the development of individualised care support plans. You will connect carers with vital services, helping them access respite, educational events, programs, and support networks.

What you’ll be doing

- Screening, triage, clinical assessment, care support planning, risk assessments, referrals and brokerage, utilising a brief intervention model.
- Capturing unmet demand for services as presented by caring families and friends to support people’s quality of life, physical and psychological wellbeing and social connections.
- Assisting with the promotion and awareness of activities across the organisation and external service providers.




- You may also be required to attend carer events and groups as needed.

About you

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

- Experience delivering phone-based support and working in the community services sector with carers and families.
- Knowledge of community services, care systems and the ability to navigate sectors such as aged care, disability, mental health and youth services.
- Knowledge of existing service systems and local providers (highly regarded).
- Strong planning, organisational and administrative skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and client databases, with demonstrated ability to manage administrative tasks effectively.

Qualifications

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, Community Development, Community services or a related discipline.

Willingness to provide a current Working with Children Check and undertake a police check prior to commencement.

- Salary: $96,893 gross pro rata+ superannuation, with some flexibility to negotiate based on experience and qualifications
