Build embedded software that helps transform patient care Join Resmed in Sydney as a Software Engineer II, Devices Software and develop reliable, embedded software for medical devices used in diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment.

Working in an Agile workplace, you will collaborate with software, hardware, systems, quality, product, and clinical teams to solve complex technical challenges. Your work will contribute directly to high-quality healthcare solutions and better patient outcomes worldwide.

What You’ll Do n

n
- Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software applications
n
- Deliver automated and manual verification against functional and performance requirements
n
- Contribute to software architecture, design reviews, and technical discussions
n
- Document software designs, implementation decisions, and test outcomes
n
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and customer-reported issues
n
- Partner with software, hardware, systems, and quality engineering teams
n
- Deliver reliable software within agreed project timelines
n
- Improve development processes, tools, and engineering practices
n
- Balance competing priorities while creating value for stakeholders
n
- Take ownership of tasks and occasionally lead smaller workstreams
n

What You Bring nn
- A bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related discipline, or equivalent practical knowledge
n
- Commercial software application development background
n
- Proficiency in C++ and/or Python for application and test software development
n
- Knowledge of Agile development environments
n
- Understanding of software design,



code reviews, debugging, and testing
n
- Familiarity with GitHub, Bitbucket, Jira, or Confluence
n
- Understanding of CI/CD principles and automated build environments
n
- Ability to translate customer and product requirements into technical solutions
n
- Clear written and verbal communication
n

Nice to Have nn
- 3+ years developing embedded C/C++ software using object-oriented programming
n
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub workflow actions
n
- Experience developing and integrating cellular modules, including modem communication, network registration, and connectivity troubleshooting
n
- Exposure to medical devices, healthcare, or another regulated industry
n
- Experience with Test-Driven Development and automated testing methodologies
