An opportunity has become available for a Psychologist/ Social Worker – Senior (Bereavement) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will n
n
- Conduct high quality person-centred comprehensive assessment and intervention.
n
- Participate in quality improvement activities and apply clinical evidence.
n
- Provide high level clinical skills and consultancy that will support and strengthen grief, loss, and bereavement responses.
n
- Demonstrate a high level of knowledge and skills in grief, loss, and bereavement care.
n
- Demonstrate high level communication skills.
n
About you n
To be successful in this position you will require:
n
n
- A tertiary degree in Psychology, Social Work, or equivalent.
n
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), or associated boards.
n
- Paid Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
n
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
n
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
n
- Driver Licence
n
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
n
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)
n

- Permanent part time (38 hours per fortnight), temporary part time (up to six months with the possibility of extension, 38 hours per fortnight)

- Base salary ranging from $64.64 - $69.55 per hour

The Specialist Palliative Care Service provides comprehensive and compassionate care to address specialist palliative care needs for consumers across Gold Coast Health as well as leading a number of statewide services and projects. A number of services are provided including community, inpatient, outpatient, inpatient consultation liaison and telehealth services.
