Job Opportunity: Design and Business Development Assistant – Mechanical Louvre Window Manufacturing

Are you looking for a dynamic role in the manufacturing industry? We are seeking a Design and Business Development Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with innovative mechanical louvre window solutions, combining design, manufacturing, and project coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

n

Design & Development:

n

Assist in the finalisation of louvre designs

n

Draw and sequence louvre components for machining using AutoCAD

n

Prepare prototypes and associated drawings for approval

n

Check shop drawings, panel layouts, glass sizes, and hardware compatibility

n

Understand louvre mechanisms, including motors and BMS integration for fire and ventilation systems

n

Procurement & Production Planning:

n

Prepare parts lists and cutting sheets

n

Conduct material take-offs, optimisations, and track material usage

n

Organise material procurement, fabrication, and delivery to site

n

Order and manage factory consumables

n

Plan factory production and logistics to meet project deadlines

n

Operate and maintain CNC machinery

n

Design and manufacture jigs for factory and site use

n

Project Coordination & Logistics:

n

Check incoming purchase orders and prepare delivery dockets for site deliveries

n

Liaise with project managers and site crews to coordinate deliveries

n

Attend in-house project meetings, providing procurement and production updates





n

Perform any other tasks necessary to excel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

n

Testing & Quality Assurance:

n

Support mock-up, testing, and documentation of results

n

Conduct QA checks during production and upon delivery

n

Assist with offshore production where applicable

n

Marketing & Business Development:

n

Assist with marketing, pricing, and quotations for Facade Solutions louvres

n

Support website development and ongoing maintenance

n

Requirements:

n

Mechanical Engineering degree or trade qualifications

n

Experience in facade or window manufacturing (preferred)

n

Proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar CAD software)

n

Robust technical understanding of mechanisms and mechanical fixings

n

Ability to manage procurement, logistics, and production planning

n

Experience with CNC machinery (preferred but not essential)

n

Excellent organisational and communication skills

n

Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
