Job Description

A rare and exciting prospect has arisen for an experienced Civil Engineering Technician to become an integral member of our Scheduling team.

n

Reporting to the Planning Manager and situated in our East Rockingham, WA office. The job would entail the scheduling of reinforcing products for a range of concrete structures in commercial and civil construction projects in accordance with the relevant standards.

Civil Engineering Technicians must also effectively control the project requirements through accurate forward planning and scheduling of production and delivery in order to maximize productivity and profitability for the business.

Duties to include, but not limited to:

n

- Read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings.
n
- Schedule reinforcing products into Bestbar's operating system
n
- Accurately plan and schedule to the project/job requirements
n
- Keep abreast of products and availability
n
- Establish and continually update project drawings, files and diary
n
- Manage several projects simultaneously
n
- Provide the Planning Department, detailed forward tonnage one month ahead of production on a continual basis
n
- Schedule to the planned tonnage two weeks ahead of production and forward those schedules to replace the planned tonnage
n
- Use Auto Cad for basic shapes
n




- Establish construction programs with Site Managers
n
- Assist Sales Department with tender preparation and quotations
n
- Technicians to do take off in tenders and lumpsum quotes
n
- Create and Complete Variations on Lump Sum Jobs
n
- Coordinate Credits and NCR information for job
n
- Schedule price reconciled against Lump sum estimate, identify potential issues(variations)
n
- Job closure when projects are complete
n

Skills and Qualifications

n

n
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or relevant experience within the Reinforcing Industry
n
- Demonstrated achievement in problem solving and project completion
n
- High level of administration skills
n
- Ability to use Auto Cad, Tekla, Revit and Bluebeam
n
- Experience in the commercial, residential and civil markets
n
- Experience in a customer facing role
n
- Intermediate level of Microsoft Office proficiency
n
