n Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Waco, TX. n Required Qualifications:n
n * Valid Speech Language Pathologist License in compliance with state regulationsn
n * Current BLS certification ( AHA/ARC )n
n Preferred Qualifications:n
n * Master's Degree or higher of Speech Language Pathologyn
n * Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathologyn
n * Speech Language Pathology experience, but New Grads are welcome to applyn
n * Other certifications or licenses may be required for this positionn
n Summary:n
n The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages. Working in a variety of settings, the SLP develops and implements individualized treatment plans aimed at enhancing speech, language, and cognitive-communication abilities. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and caregivers to facilitate improved communication outcomes and overall quality of life.n
n Essential Work Functions:n
n * Utilize standardized assessments and clinical observation to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders across a diverse patient populationn
n * Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practicesn
n * Continuously assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain detailed, accurate documentation in the electronic medical recordn
n * Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies, home-based exercises, and safe swallowing practices,



while offering supportive counseling as requiredn
n * Work in conjunction with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate a comprehensive approach to patient caren
n * Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards while addressing patients' comfort needs during therapy sessionsn
n * Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities to remain current with best practices in speech language therapyn
n * Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practicen
n Required Essential Skills:n
n * Critical thinking, service excellence, and positive interpersonal communication skillsn
n * The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English languagen
n * Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skillsn
n * Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bendn
n * Interpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalismn
n * Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipmentn
n * Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel.
