As a Fleming’s Landscapes Team Leader (Maintenance), you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of a range of daily tasks and projects within the maintenance division of our operations.

n

With the support of the Council Project Manager, you will oversee the delivery of work and communicate with your designated crew to meet our client expectations on a daily basis. You will also be required to assist with coordinating all works associated prior to seeking handover of streetscapes and parks to council.

n

Conducting open space and streetscape tree audits is also a key function of the role as well as producing reports and arranging / coordinating orders.

n

It is a requirement of the role to adhere to performance management in line with all KPI’s for the division.

RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES n

Leadership and People Management

n

n
- Provide clear and direct instruction to staff
n
- Assist with annual performance reviews
n
- Supervise and lead a small team to deliver the required outcomes
n
- Provide and manage work scheduled
n
- Manage staff and performance whilst building a positive working relationship
n

n

Streetscapes and Open Spaces

n

n
- Tree maintenance, including watering, staking and minor pruning
n
- Weed identification and control
n
- Disease and pest identification control
n
- Monitoring irrigation systems and carrying out minor repairs where necessary
n
- Inspect and report maintenance items for action in a timely manner
n
- Recommend the replacement of any play equipment items necessary
n
- Identify when soft fall areas need replacing
n

- Perform all tasks in a manner that does not place at risk the health and safety or yourself or any other employee

- Ensure you observe,



understand and comply with all Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, Codes of Practice, Policies and Procedures

- Assist Managers with the development and reviews of service standards

- Prepare and submit reports

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES nn
- Proven ability and experience in planning, organising and coordination projects
n
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
n
- Ability to meet deadlines

- Safety Conscious
n
- Proactive in showing initiative for results - problem solving and improving operations in a maintenance workplace
n
- Experience in the use of specific plant, machinery, equipment and tools
n
- Able to work unsupervised and as part of a team
n
- Friendly and easy going
n
- Drivers Licence - Manual highly advantageous
n
- ChemCert Certificate
n
- Certificate IV in Horticulture and/or extensive related experience
n
- Construction Card
n
