About the Role n
This role is a mix of Project Manager, Technical Delivery Manager and Agile Lead. You'll build and lead a multidisciplinary engineering team while overseeing delivery planning, governance, budgets, stakeholder engagement and project outcomes. A key focus of the role is establishing and scaling an automated patching capability across a large microservices environment, while supporting the adoption of AI-enabled engineering practices. This will involve finding the balance between tradition PM/Agile delivery frameworks but heavily adapted to contemporary AI solution delivery practices. The broader program includes API upgrades, integration initiatives, platform modernisation and software engineering transformation.
Key Responsibilities n

- Lead and manage a team of engineers and technical specialists
n
- Oversee delivery of API modernisation and automation initiatives
n
- Manage project planning, budgets, milestones, reporting and governance
n
- Lead discovery and pilot activities before scaling solutions across the wider environment
n
- Establish and operationalise an automated patching factory across a large microservices estate
n
- Deliver Spring Boot upgrade and application modernisation programs
n
- Manage stakeholders across business, operational and technical teams
n
- Oversee risks, dependencies and delivery outcomes
n
- Support team growth, recruitment and onboarding activities
n
- Drive adoption of AI-enabled software development practices
n
- Other duties as required
n
Essential Criteria n
n
- Proven experience as a Delivery Lead, Delivery Manager or Technical Project Manager
n
- Strong background delivering software engineering, digital product or application development initiatives
n
- Experience with APIs, integration platforms or microservices-based environments
n
- Demonstrated ability to lead Agile delivery teams while maintaining strong delivery governance
n
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, reporting and stakeholder engagement
n
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and engineering practices
n
- Ability to influence engineers, Technical Leads and delivery teams
n
- Experience leading and developing high-performing technical teams
n
- Solid communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- Outcome-focused approach with a track record of successful delivery
n
Desirable Experience n
n
- Java and Spring Boot environments
n
- Application modernisation, DevOps or automated testing programs
n
- API migration or upgrade initiatives
