Vacuum Excavation Operators and Plant operators

Sheppard Earthmoving is seeking experienced Plant Operators and Vacuum Excavation Truck Operators to join our team in Toowoomba, Queensland. As a full-time position, you will be responsible for the secure and efficient operation of a range of plant to support our projects across the region.

What you'll be doing
n
n
Safely operate and maneuver a variety of plant, including vacuum excavation trucks, excavators, loaders, skid steer loaders, tip trucks, and under bore machines
n
Perform daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance on assigned equipment
n
Communicate effectively with the site supervisor and other team members to coordinate plant usage
n
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures to maintain a protected work environment
n
Provide high-quality work and contribute to the successful delivery of construction projects
n

What we're looking for
n
n
Minimum 2 years' experience operating mobile plant, including excavators, front-end loaders, skid steer loaders and tip trucks.
n
Vacuum excavation experience is not essential — full training will be provided to the right candidate.
n
Current MR or higher driver's licence.
n
Current White Card (General Construction Induction).
n
Solid understanding of safe plant operation, basic maintenance and equipment care.
n
Ability to work safely and effectively as part of a team, as well as independently and with minimal supervision across a range of projects.
n
Robust communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
n
A proactive and reliable approach to work, with a commitment to quality workmanship and maintaining high safety standards.
n
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different equipment, worksites and project requirements.
