The Opportunity n

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Solution Designer to join a major enterprise Data Platforms team, supporting a large-scale transformation program focused on modernising legacy data environments and migrating critical workloads to cloud-based platforms.

n

Working closely with Architecture, Engineering, and Delivery teams, you will play a key role in designing scalable, secure, and future-ready data solutions that support business-critical initiatives. This position will suit a technically strong Solution Designer who enjoys working across complex data ecosystems and driving modernisation outcomes within large enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities n

n
- Lead solution design activities across enterprise data platforms and transformation initiatives.
n
- Analyse current-state data environments and define scalable target-state solutions.
n
- Partner with Architecture, Engineering, and Delivery teams to translate business and technical requirements into solution designs.
n
- Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the delivery lifecycle.
n
- Support migration and modernisation initiatives involving cloud-based data platforms.
n
- Participate in architecture reviews and provide recommendations on solution design, scalability, performance, and risk.
n
- Ensure solutions align with governance, compliance, security, and operational standards.
n
- Support development teams with technical guidance, issue resolution, and implementation oversight.
n
- Contribute to documentation, design artefacts, standards, and best practices.
n

Skills & Experience Technical Expertise nn
- Proven Solution Design experience within large enterprise environments.
n




- Strong experience working across data platforms, data warehousing, and analytics ecosystems.
n
- Hands-on experience with SAS-based platforms and associated development frameworks.
n
- Understanding of Snowflake, Databricks, and modern cloud data architectures.
n
- Experience with data migration, platform modernisation, or transformation programs.
n
- Strong understanding of data management, code deployment, and solution governance practices.
n

Architecture & Delivery nn
- Ability to operate effectively across Architecture, Delivery, and Engineering teams.
n
- Experience designing scalable, resilient, and high-performing enterprise solutions.
n
- Strong understanding of:n n
- DevOps practices
n
- CI/CD pipelines
n
- Regression management
n
- Code versioning and deployment processes
n
- Documentation and governance standards
n

Stakeholder Engagement nn
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
- Ability to engage with technical and non-technical audiences.
n
- Experience facilitating workshops and collaborating with senior stakeholders across business and technology functions.
n

Highly Desirable nn
- Banking or financial services experience.
n
- Exposure to regulatory reporting or risk-related data environments.
n
- Understanding of customer, lending, or financial product data domains.
n
- Experience supporting enterprise cloud migration programs.
n
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and emerging engineering technologies.
