I'm recruiting aSenior Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologistto join a large and well-established Sydney geotechnical group.
For this one,personality and communication skills are going to matter.
I'm looking for someone who's technically solid, but importantly isconfident talking to clients, proactive and has a bit of a character.
Someone who can build relationships, pick up the phone and have a conversation rather than hiding behind emails and reports.
This isn't really a"doer" role - it's a leadership role.
You'll be:
Managing multiple geotechnical projects at once - scope, resources, programme, budget and delivery.
Looking afterlarger tenders and proposals.
Acting as a key contact for clients, contractors and other stakeholders.
Reviewing technical work and providing direction rather than doing everything yourself.
Mentoring and coordinating engineers within the team.




Juggling multiple priorities and taking ownership without needing someone constantly telling you what to do.
Ideally you'll have around8-12 years' experienceacross geotechnical investigations, design and/or construction supervision, along with solid project management and commercial skills.
Chartered or working towards it would be ideal.
The big thing though -you need excellent verbal communication skills.Someone confident, personable and comfortable dealing with clients and leading others.
There's a strong pipeline of infrastructure, road and building projects, and it's a valuable opportunity for someone wanting to move further intoproject leadership, clients and commercial managementrather than being buried in day-to-day site work.
