About the Role

n

We are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Ahrens Silos team at our Kent Town office.

n

Reporting to the Executive General Manager, you'll manage the design and technical detail behind the Silos product range, driving product improvements and developing new products from concept through to manufacture.

n

What You'll Be Doing

n

n
- Develop detailed 3D models, production drawings and specifications in Autodesk Inventor
n
- Manage engineering data and documentation within the Autodesk Vault PDM system
n
- Coordinate engineering certification requirements across the silo product range
n
- Review specifications and drawings to ensure designs meet project, manufacturing and compliance requirements
n
- Apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles to deliver efficient, cost-effective production outcomes
n
- Prepare installation instructions and supporting documentation
n
- Assist with material take-offs, manufacturing requirements and cost estimating
n
- Partner with clients, Operations and Production Managers to resolve technical issues and deliver practical solutions
n

What You'll Bring

n

n
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience in a similar role
n
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a design and drafting environment,



with advanced Autodesk Inventor skills
n
- Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Vault, including document control and drawing management
n
- Experience in sheet metal and light structural steel design and associated manufacturing processes
n
- Sound knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, including AS1100
n
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy in engineering documentation
n

- Design, drafting or fabrication of materials handling equipment
n
- Experience in the agricultural manufacturing or engineering sector
n
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
