About the opportunity n

The Learning Success Advisor is a member of a team of specialist professional staff focusing on student facing support responsible for the facilitation of post-entry academic language and learning support initiatives for all students (domestic and international) and contributes to the University’s strategic initiatives for the provision of learning support. The Learning Success Advisor works in partnership with faculties, schools, and the library to facilitate the development of discipline specific integrated and embedded programs, develop and evaluate resources for learning skills programs, provide groups and individual learning skills sessions, contribute to the development and delivery of peer-learning initiatives, advise students on personalised learning plans and direct students to relevant learning support resources, monitor student engagement via the centralised learning support portal, administer online diagnostic tools and milestone tasks and contribute to the development of plans, strategies and procedures in line with the University’s strategy.

Your key responsibilities will be to: n

work within a dynamic team, reporting to the Learning Hub Lead

n

design and create learning and teaching materials for the area

n

contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of post-entry academic language and learning support initiatives for all students throughprovidingspecialist guidance and advice

n

deliver learning support, advising and training activities to students,



peer-facilitatorsand staff for up to 20 hours a week

n

work collaboratively with the Learning Hub Lead, Learning SuccessAdvisorsand colleagues across CET + Learning Hub to ensure effective contribution to learning support programs and initiatives

n

contribute to and engage actively with the post-entry academic language and learning community beyond the University to further the reputation of the University.

About you n

post graduate qualifications and/or relevant work experience in a related field (e.g., applied linguistics, Higher Education, TESOL)

n

experiencefacilitatinglearning support initiatives within the higher education/knowledge sector

n

experience in developing andfacilitatinghigh-quality, innovative programs to support post-entry academic language and learning

n

theoretical and practical understanding of effective educational practice in the post-entry, higher education space

n

demonstrated experience in designing and delivering discipline-specific academic language support programs

n

experience using learning analytics to inform learning design, support studentprogressand monitor student outcomes

n

experience using creative educational technology platforms tofacilitatelanguage and communication support to diverse cohorts of students.

n
