The Role /n

We’re seeking experienced Support Workers in Toowoomba to support two female participants with highly complex behaviours and significant support needs , delivered through a 2:1 support model.

/n

In this role, you’ll:

/n

/n

- Deliver hands-on, person-centred care including all aspects of daily living (personal hygiene, meal preparation, cooking, cleaning, domestic tasks).

/n

- Assist with mobility, transfers, lifting, positioning, and use of mobility aids.

/n

- Implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Plans, restrictive practice protocols (environmental & physical), and apply de-escalation strategies as needed.

/n

- Provide non-verbal communication supports (e.g., key word signing), behaviour cue-reading, and proactive support.

/n

- Support participants to access the community including social, recreational, and medical activities.

/n

- Assist with skill development to build independence, confidence, and decision-making.

/n





- Maintain a safe workplace by following risk assessments, safety protocols, and working collaboratively with allied health and families.

/n

- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including completing documentation, handovers, and contributing to care planning.

/n

- Be flexible across a range of shifts, including active shifts, sleepovers, evenings, and weekends .

/n

Important Availability Requirement /n

Active overnight availability is our TOP PRIORITY for this role.

/n

We are specifically looking for applicants who can reliably commit to active overnight shifts , as well as providing some availability for day, evening and sleepover shifts .

/n

Applicants who are only available for day shifts or who cannot commit to active overnight work are unlikely to be successful .

/n

What You’ll Bring /n

Essential:

/n

/n

- Proven experience supporting people with complex behaviours and/or high support needs .

/n

- Experience supporting participants who experience seizures , including the ability to recognise and respond appropriately to seizure activity.

/n

- Confidence implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans and restrictive practice protocols.

/n





- Experience with behaviour de-escalation and managing complex or escalated behaviours.

/n

- Ability to read and respond to behavioural cues and support non-verbal communication.

/n

- Ability to remain calm, professional and consistent in challenging situations.

/n

- Strong understanding of participant dignity, choice, rights and person-centred support.

/n

- Reliable availability for active overnight shifts , with additional availability across day, evening and sleepover shifts.

- NDIS Worker Screening Check

- Working with Children Check

- National Police Check

/n

- First Aid & CPR Certificate

/n

- COVID-19 Vaccination

/n

/n

Desirable / Highly Regarded:

/n

/n

- Certificate III (or higher) in Individual Support / Disability / Community Services or related field

/n

- MAYBO training

/n

- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification

/n

- Experience with behaviour de-escalation, restrictive practices, or injury prevention

/n

- Experience working within a 2:1 support model.
