The Job n

Our client is looking for a NZ Registered Electrician to relocate to Melbourne and join their Victorian Field Service team.

n

Based in South-East Melbourne around Dandenong , you will work as a Field Service Technician travelling to customer sites throughout Melbourne and Victoria, carrying out preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, fault finding and equipment installations.

n

This is not a domestic electrical role. You will work across a broad range of industrial materials handling equipment , including:

- Dock levellers and scissor lift tables
n
- Goods and freight lifts
n
- Tail lifts
n
- Compactors, bale presses and bin lifters
n
- Rapid, sectional and roller doors
n

n

The role has a strong electrical and electro-mechanical focus, including diagnosing faults and repairing or replacing motors, sensors, switches, power supplies, VSDs and PLC-controlled equipment .

n

You will manage your own service vehicle, tools and parts, plan preventative maintenance work and respond to breakdowns across your territory.

The Candidate n

To be considered for this position, you will need:

n

n
- EWRB registration as an Electrician
n
- Current New Zealand Practising Licence
n
- New Zealand citizenship with the ability to live and work in Australia
n
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
n




- Experience working with industrial machinery or equipment
n
- Experience with motors, sensors, switches and electrical control systems
n
- Exposure to VSDs and PLC-controlled equipment will be highly regarded
n
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
n
- Competence using electrical testing equipment
n
- Strong mechanical aptitude
n
- Current driver's licence
n
- Ability to work independently in a field-based role
n
- Good communication and customer service skills
n

Experience within industrial maintenance, manufacturing, materials handling, automated equipment or field service would be particularly well suited.

n

Your NZ electrical registration and current Practising Licence will form the basis of the process to obtain the appropriate Victorian electrical licence, with assistance provided throughout the transition.

Our client is an established Australian business specialising in the service, maintenance, repair and installation of materials handling equipment.

Their technicians work across a broad range of commercial and industrial customer sites, servicing equipment including dock levellers, goods lifts, scissor lifts, compactors, bale presses, bin lifters and industrial door systems.

Due to continued growth, the business is expanding its Victorian service operation and is looking to relocate three experienced tradespeople from New Zealand - two Mechanical Fitters and one Electrician - to join the Melbourne team.
