As Head Chef at Juan Fifty Mexican Bar and Kitchen, you will lead our kitchen team and take responsibility for the consistent delivery of quality food, efficient service and a positive kitchen culture. This is a hands‑on leadership role for a chef who takes pride in their work, communicates openly and understands that robust kitchen management requires teamwork, fairness and accountability.
Key responsibilities n
Leading, supervising and training the kitchen team
n
Maintaining consistent food quality, presentation and service times
n
Managing food costs, stock control, ordering and wastage
n
Preparing fair and commercially responsible kitchen rosters
n
Maintaining food‑safety, hygiene, allergen and cleaning standards
n
Coordinating effectively with the owner, management and front‑of‑house team
n
Reporting staffing, supplier, equipment and operational issues promptly
n
Managing kitchen performance within approved budgets
n
Attending all scheduled management meetings
n
Providing reliable opening, closing and service handovers
About you n
Previous experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef or senior kitchen leader
n
Strong leadership and communication skills
n
Excellent stock, ordering, costing and wastage‑control experience
n
A fair and consistent approach to staff rostering
n
Sound knowledge of food‑safety and allergen requirements
n
The ability to remain organised during busy services
n
A dependable, accountable and team‑focused attitude
n
Appropriate commercial cookery qualifications or equivalent experience
n
