Abel Tasman Motor Inn (Elimoc Hospitality Pty Ltd ) is an established 38-room motel located in Dubbo, NSW. The motel has operated for approximately 30 years and provides accommodation services to leisure, business and family travelers visiting Dubbo and the surrounding region.

About the position

n

We are looking for an experienced Motel Manager to take responsibility for the daily management of the motel and ensure efficient operations across reception, reservations, guest services and housekeeping.

n

The position reports directly to the Managing Director and requires an organised, practical and customer-focused approach to motel management.

n

Key responsibilities

n

- Oversee the daily operation of the motel, including reception, reservations, guest services and housekeeping.
n
- Supervise and coordinate reception and housekeeping employees, including rostering, work allocation and performance monitoring.
n
- Manage guest enquiries, requests and complaints and maintain appropriate service standards.
n
- Monitor room availability, occupancy, room presentation and guest satisfaction.
n
- Coordinate housekeeping activities, room inspections, linen requirements and room readiness.
n
- Arrange and follow up maintenance, repairs, security and general property requirements.
n
- Manage purchasing, stock levels, suppliers and operational expenditure.
n
- Monitor revenue, expenses, occupancy and other operating results.
n
- Assist with budgets, financial administration and operational reporting.
n




- Develop and maintain effective motel procedures and service standards.
n
- Ensure workplace health and safety, fire safety and other compliance requirements are maintained.
n
- Identify operational issues and take appropriate action to maintain the smooth running of the motel.
n
- Provide information and assistance to guests regarding local attractions, services and transportation.

Skills and experience

n

The successful applicant will have:

n

n
- A relevant qualification in hospitality, hotel management, business management or a related field.
n
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in motel, hotel or accommodation management.
n
- Demonstrated experience managing day-to-day motel operations.
n
- Experience supervising staff, preparing rosters and allocating work.
n
- Knowledge of reception, reservations, housekeeping and guest service operations.
n
- Experience with purchasing, suppliers, budgets, expenses and operational reporting.
n
- Strong communication, customer service and problem-solving abilities.
n
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing operational priorities.
n
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety and hospitality compliance requirements.
n
- Ability to work a versatile management roster, including weekends and public holidays when required.
